Chapter 1
New York City.
A large man dressed in black walks into a large business building and goes up the stairs to the third floor. He reaches a huge wooden door and enters, once inside he is greeted by a sitting behind a dark wooden desk. The man stood up from behind the desk and walked forward to greet his guest.
"Good morning Mr. Andrew’s." The man says coming around and shakes the visitors hand.
"Morning Sir." Matt greets him, then glides his hand though his brown hair.
Jack then walks to his office-bar and picks up his whiskey bottle and pours himself and Matt a drink, and hands it to him. Matt takes the glass and nods as a sigh of thank you, and takes a sip of the expensive whiskey.
"I’m very disappointed in you, I thought things would be handled by now." Jack tells Matt with a grin on his face. Matt hadn’t been what he would excepted to be. He didn’t look anything like a hitman. He was well dressed, the body of an athlete gone slightly to seed but still powerful. His hair was thick and mostly dark.
"Yes Sir, I know. She was very lucky...this time. She won’t be the next time. I promise." Matt assures his high paying boss.
"I hope so. I am paying you good money you know. Miss Banon cannot make it to court next week." Jack tells him sounding more and more serious.
"I know sir, and don’t worry, she
won’t. I’ll make sure of that." Matt answers him back, they then exchange
smiles. Matt takes a final drink from the glass and sets it down. He then
turns to walk out , passing then Jack’s thin secretary, who glares back
at the handsome young man. Matt winks back at her and leaves the office.
Dallas, Uppercuts.
The local Bar was always packed with new and old friends. The big screen tv airing today’s football game and eveyone stood closer cheering on their team. But away from all the noise, up a few stairs, at their usual table were two PI’s sitting. Regular costomers. Carlos stroked his hand through his short dark brown hair. It standing up like he had just woken up from a long sleep. Trent smiled at his friend, but Carlos only girnned back, not worrying about how he looked. All he worried about was the taste of a ice cold beer. His wish came true as a blonde waitress came up to their table carrying their drinks. She set them down and Carlos thanked her with a huge smile, winking at her.
"In your dreams Carlos!" She told him, and made her way back down to the Bar. Trent tried to hide his smile as he picked up his beer and took a sip from it. Carlos only glared at him with a grin. He took a sip of his beer, closing his eyes and sighning in relief as he immediatly felt better already.
"Man, I cannot believe we’ve been busy with this case for over a week!! I am dead tired. I thought we’d never find that kid." Carlos said setting down his beer on the table.
"Yeah, me too. But at least we found her, her family was pretty worried about her."Trent agrees with his friend, he also was very tired. Finding a missing girl was never easy, but luckly the two held up their name as the two best PI’s in Dallas.
"I mean, who would want to runaway from such a rich house anyway?"Carlos said, taking another drink from his beer. He looked down at the crowd under them as they all yelled at once, their team must have scored another touchdown.
"She probably wanted to get away from it all, you know how teenagers are. Remember how we used to be??"Trent said grinning at his friend, he then raised his bottle of beer to take a sip.
"Don’t remind me! Besides that was different, our parent’s weren’t millionaires!" Carlos said in his cocky way raising his one eyebrow.
"True, but still. At least it’s over, and the payment is enough to keep us going for another few weeks." Trent said smiling.
"True indeed my friend, true indeed."Carlos said raising his beer.
At WTR Headquarters
Texas Ranger Cordell Walker is sitting at his desk, busy filling out some reports, when his phone rings.
"Walker" he answers bringing the head piece to his ear. He smiles at hearing the voice at the other line.
"Hey Walker, it’s Race Banon. How you doing?" Walker recordnises the voice.
"Hi Race, I’m doing great. Haven’t heard from you in a while. How you been??
Walker has a flashback where he was still in the Army Combat Unit, and Race Banon was his best friend. They got through alot together back in the old days. After they finished with the Army, Walker came here to Dallas to become a Texas Ranger. He tried to convince Race to come along with him, he had what it takes to become one. But Race turned down his offer, he had a girlfriend waiting back in New York for him. He married her, and the two had a little girl together. Monica Banon. But when she was 12, Race and Demi Banon filed for divorce, and Race was left to raise a daughter. But he had done a good job of it Walker would say. Race worked at the NYPD and worked his way up to Captain, after of course working for a goverment agency. Top secret Race always told Walker. But when he had something really big to handle, he would drop his little girl off here at Walker. He would then teach Monica the basic’s of matrial arts, and the more she came to visit, the better she got. Real good student Walker remembered. The last time Walker heard from Race was about 5 months ago, when Race needed his help in a criminal who had fled to Dallas from New York. They got around talking about Monica, Race telling him that she was working with him at NYPD, but had also a part time job. Walker wondered why Race had called him this time, and by the tone of Race’s voice, Walker knew it wasn’t something good. He continued to listen to his friend.
"I’ve been doing ok, I guess. Listen Walker, I need you help." Race says with concern, Walker knew something was wrong.
"Anything Race." Walker offers his help. He would do anything for a fellow law officer and friend.
"It’s Monica, she’s in trouble." Race says with even more concern.
"What’s wrong??" Walker asks, immediatlly trying to get the worse thoughts out of his head. The idea of that sweet young face in trouble was too much for him.
"Well, she’s due to appear in court in a week or so to testify as a witness against a corrupt business man. And now she’s been receiving death threats." Race infroms his friend. He knew he could call Walker about this, the two trusted each other with their lives.
"Like what?" Walker asks, the little’s girls face running through his mind. He kept telling himself that she probably didn’t look like that anymore. Since that last time he saw her was when she went off to college.
"Well, aside from all the threatening calls, yesterday she was doing some shopping in the city, when a car came out of nowhere and tried to run her down." Race answers him.
"That’s awful. Is she ok??" Walker says with concern, he knew this was serious.
"Yeh, she’s fine. If it wasn’t for all those martial arts training you thought her a few years back, I don’t think she could have jumped away that quick. But now I’m starting to get worried." Race getting more concern for his daughter.
"Have you called the police??" Walker asks him, even though Race was the captain of the NYPD, he still had to handle the situation as a ordinary case. Even though it was his daughter.
"Of course I have, but you know the second I put her under full protection it will raise a few eyebrows in the main offices. You know how they are Walker. They need evidence or no show!!" Race says getting cocky. There wasn’t anyone in the department he trusted enough with the life of his daughter.
"I know what you mean. What can I do to help??" Walker says to him, he knew this must have been hard for Race, and he would do anything to help his friend.
"Well, your the only one I trust Walker, your like a brother to me. And Monica thinks of you like an uncle."Race says.
"She really was a good student." Walker answers him. After all the trainings, Monica picked up the habit of calling Walker her uncle. He didn’t mind since he had known her since she was a baby, and had watched her grow up into a beautiful girl. He couldn’t imagion though how she would look now.
"And I read in a newsletter the other day about those two guys who run their own P.I. business, Thunder Investigations. And the review said they were very good. Then I remembered that you know the Malloy kid." Race continues holding up a clip from a newspaper, a short story about how these two PI assisted Ranger Walker in catching a dangerous criminal. There was also a picture of the three standing side by side.
"Yes, Trent Malloy. You remember his father, Thunder Malloy, don’t you??" Walker asks.
"Exactly! So I was wondering if I could maybe send Monica over there to Dallas, you know so she can get away from here, and hire those two guys to protect her until the hearing next week. I’m hiring them because you know them Walker. So, think you could give them a call and arrange everything??" Race asks the Ranger. He remembered how he and Walker used to visit Thunder Malloy when he would come and visit Walker in Dallas.
"I’d be glad to Race. She’ll be in good hands, I’ll make sure of that." Walker assures him.
"Thanks a lot Walker. I knew I could count on you old buddy." Race thanks him.
"My pleasure, so when’s she coming in??" Walker asks.
"Uh, her flight leaves tomorrow morning, so she should be there at noon." Race replies.
"We’ll be waiting for her" Walker assures him.
"Thanks again Walker. I’ll call again tomorrow to see how things are going. Bye Walker" Race greets.
"Alright, bye Race."
Walker hangs up, then thinks a moment and picks up the phone again and dial’s a number.
"Thunder Investigations, Kim speaking, how may I help you??" Kim answers chewing her gum while talking over the phone.
"Hi Kim, it’s Walker, it Trent there??" Walker asks.
"Nope" Kim replies.
"Well, is Carlos there??" Walker asks again.
"Nope."Kim answers again.
"Then where are they??" Walker getting anoined.
"Where do you think they are!!" Kim says
"O yeh right, down at the Bar." Walker says with a smile.
"Bingo!! Busy enjoying themselves while I’m going all the paperwork...Again!!" Kim sounding flustrated glaring at all the files she still had to the file into her computer.
"Oh ok, well I’ll just head down there anyway, I need to talk to them. Thanks anyway. Bye" Walker quickly says before Kim looses it.
"Ok, bye!" Kim says and hangs up, and sighs looking at all the stacks of paper.
Walker laughs to himself as he sets
down the headpiece. He stands up from behind his wooden desk and walks
around to grab his hat off the stander. He walked out the office to head
to the Uppercuts Bar. Just the place to find the local PI’s.
HALF AN HOUR LATER.
"Man, I cannot wait to get home and get some sleep, I’m dead tired." Trent says finishing his beer. The Bar had quited down since it was half time with the game, so eveyone quickly made their way to the Bar to refresh their drinks.
"Tell me about it!! I still can’t believe you got that great new apartment." Carlos complains.
"Hey, it’s no different from yours." Trent tells him.
"Yes it is, yours is bigger and..."
"Cleaner??" Trent adds.
"That’s not fair." Carlos says.
"Yes it is, face it Carlos. If you would clean your place a bit more, it would look brand new!!" Trent tells him.
"Yeh ok, you win." Carlos says at him and a grin on his face.
Both their attension is turned when they see Walker come walking up to them. Surprised in seeing him, Trent tryingly swollows down his beer, almost choking. Walker smiles when he sees the look on their faces.
True this wasn’t the usual place Walker hung out.
"Hey Walker!!" Trent greets him acting surprised.
"Hi Walker." Carlos also greets.
"Hi Guys. Ah I’ll have a beer Butch." Walker asks Butch when the huge barmen asks him what the Ranger would like to drink.
"Coming up!!" Butch says and turns to get his beer.
"Nice work on finishing that last case of yours." Walker congratulates them, taking a seat next to Trent.
"Thanks, we’re just glad it’s over, now’s the time to relax!!" Carlos says smiling.
"Well, sorry to hear that Carlos." Walker adds and thanks Butch when his beer is placed before him.
"What do you mean??" Trent asks confused.
"Well, I just got a call from an old Army buddy in New York, seems his daughter is in trouble and needs your protection. And I told him that you would be glad to take the case." Walker says taking a drink from his beer.
"O no, not another one!!" Carlos says dropping his head, not yet ready for another teenager.
"Don’t worry Carlos, she’s in her twenties." Walker adds maybe that would get his attension, but started to hessitate when he saw the smile starting to apear on Carlos’s face.
"Really??" he says with a smile on his face looking up at the Ranger.
"Don’t get any ideas Carlos!!" Trent says and turns to Walker.
"What’s the case Walker?" Trent continues asking Walker.
"She needs a couple of bodyguards. So I figured you guys are the best around. What do you say?" Walker informs them and takes a sip of his beer.
"Fine by me!" Carlos said with a huge smile on his face and Trent rolles his eyes looking at him.
"When does she get here??" Trent asked Walker ignoring Carlos.
"Tomorrow morning. Figured we could all go and pick her up tomorrow." Walker answers.
"That’s ok with us, right Carlos??" Trent asks with a grin on his face.
"O Yeah!!" Carlos says, still with a big smile on his face. Walker can only laugh.
The next morning Walker, Trent and Carlos head for the Airport to await the arrival of Monica Banon. The airport was streaming with people, it was hard for the three just to stick to each other.
"Well, her flight should have been here by now. Where do we meet her??" Trent asks looking around at the crowd of people coming and going.
"I don’t know, Race didn’t say. Why don’t we split-up. Trent you head for entrance 1, Carlos you take 2 and I’ll go check at 3. Meet back here if you don’t find her." Walker informed them looking around.
"Fine by me!!" Carlos says, rubbing his hands together.
"Carlos!!" Walker and Trent say at once, grinning at Carlos who immediatly got an innocent look on his face.
"What?? I’ll be nice, don’t worry!!" He said to the two staring at him.
"That’s what I’m afraid of." Trent adds, he didn’t want their client getting a first bad inpresion of Carlos and his sarcastic charm.
They then split-up and head in opposite directions. Trent getting to his first. He starts looking around and looks up and the t.v. screens to see the number of flights coming in. He walks straight ahead looking up and the screens, when he bumps into a woman, knocking them both down. All her things fall out of her purse.
"O man, I’m so sorry!!" Trent says, standing up and helping the woman up.
"That’s ok, I should have been looking where I’m going." The woman says, taking off her sunglasses and looks down at the gentleman picking up all her things.
"Let me help you with that." Trent says, helping her pick up her things and putting them back in her purse. Then he glances into her eyes for the first time. She looks so beautiful, with her long black hair and blue eyes, the bluest eyes. Trent then stops for a moment and get’s lost in her eyes, her eyes are also lost in his baby blue eyes. She wore blue jeans that hugged her trim hips and long legs topped by a small red summer top and a black jacket over it. They both then stood up straight, still glancing into each others eyes. Not saying a word. Trent then breaks out of th trance and smiles.
"O, here." Trent says and hands her, her wallet. She takes it from him and puts it away in her purse.
"Thanks...You must live here, I’m trying to find a pay phone." She asks him smiling.
"Here, you can use my cell-phone, it’s much closer than walking all the way to the other end of the Airport, and then having to stand in a line of people, also wanting to make a call, like, like you."Trent says while mumbling the whole way. She breaks into a smile, the greatest smile Trent had ever seen. He then hands her his cell-phone.
"Wow, you really have a great smile, it lights up you whole face." Trent says.
"Thank you. I really like you, um, your cell-phone!! Except it’s off." She says starring at the dead cell-phone.
"O, I’m sorry" He takes a look at it. "The battery must be dead, but I’d be happy to help you find the pay-phones." Trent says putting the cell-phone back into his pocket.
"That’s ok, I’ll just wait here. I’m supposed to meet someone here." She says.
"O ok, I’m waiting for someone too, so why don’t we just wait together." Trent suggest’s.
"Alright. I’d like that." She says breaking into that same great smile, she could see how shy he was.
"By the way, I’m Trent, Trent Malloy." He says offering his hand.
"Very nice to meet you Trent, I’m..."
"Monica!!" Walker says coming from behind Trent.
"Uncle Walker!!" She runs past Trent and go gives Walker a hug.
"Look at you, you’ve grown up to be so beautiful!!" Walker says. Never could he imagine she could grow up to be so beautiful. She had indeed grown up to be a women.
"I’ve missed you so much, Uncle Walker." Monica says to him. Rembering the man that would always take care of her when her dad was busy. And now more than ever she needed his help.
"You mean your Monica?? Our client??" Trent says with his mouth hanging open in amazement.
"And you must be my bodyguard." Monica says smiling turing to the blonde PI.
"Well, I see you too have met." Walker says walking closer to Trent with Monica.
"Kind-of, Hi Trent, I’m Monica Banon." She says and reaches out her hand.
"Very nice to meet you too!!" Trent shakes her hand, and the softest hands.
Carlos then comes walking up behind them all.
"Hey guys, why didn’t you come tell me you found our client." He says then look at Monica and freezes in shock.
"Carlos, I’d like you to meet Monica Banon. Monica this is Carlos Sandoval." Walker says introducing them.
"Nice to meet you Carlos." Monica says shaking his hand.
"Nice to, um, to meet, uh..." Carlos tries to talk but is still with his mouth open in shock.
"You ok Carlos??" Trent asks.
"I’m, uh, fine. I’m fine."He says getting his head together. "Nice to meet you Monica."
"Well, what say we get out of here??" Walker says picking up Monica’s bag.
"Please!!" Monica says and starts to walk with Walker.
Walker and Monica start to walk as Trent and Carlos slowly start walking behind them. Then Carlos goes closer to Trent.
"Why didn’t you tell me that our new client is Monica Banon!!!" Carlos says in a hasty voice.
"I didn’t even know what she looked like!! She looked a lot younger in the picture Walker showed us. And she’s more beautiful." Trent says smiling at her from behind.
"Um, Hello!?!?! Where have you been Trent?? Monica Banon is only the newest and greatest actress to hit the big screen!!" Carlos says getting more louder.
"Oh, I didn’t know." Trent says, getting even more excited.
"I can’t believe we get to protect a huge movie star!!" Carlos says. Rubbing his hands together again.
"Hey, just remember. She’s in real trouble and we have to be serious about this, besides, I saw her first!!" Trent says with a big smile on his face.
"Yeh, ok but still,...you what?? Hey come on!!" Carlos says being very jealous.
"Sorry buddy. You snooze, you loose." Trent says still watching Monica from behind who is talking to Walker.
"I snooze??... I was walking around in this damb airport looking for her!! Besides, didn’t you once say that you don’t date girls but only woman??" Carlos says.
"Yeh I know I did, but she’s different Carlos, I know she is. I could see it in her eyes." Trent says getting lost in the moment.
"Well, I hope so for your sake buddy." Carlos says knowing he’s lost.
Trent looks at Carlos and gives a smile, then looks at Monica again. She then glances back for a second, stairs into his eyes and smiles, Trent smilling back.
Just as they get outside the Airport to Walker’s Dodge and Trent’s Corvette, Walker’s cell-phone rings.
"Yeh, Walker. I see..I’ll be right there." He turns the phone off.
"Listen guys, I need to get back at Ranger Headquarters, one of our big cases are going down." Walker says.
"Want me to join you??" Carlos asks since he came with Walker.
"Ok, sure. Trent I booked Monica into the Dallas Royal Hotel. Think you could drop her of there??" Walker asks.
"Sure, but Tommy asked me to stop by at the Karate Studio for a class." Trent adds.
"I don’t mind, we could go there first." Monica says.
"Really, I just have one class to teach, then I’ll go drop you off." Trent says.
"That’s fine." Monica assures him.
"Ok then, why don’t we meet all tonight at CD Bar and Grill??" Walker suggest’s.
"Sounds great, meet you guys there tonight at eight."
Trent adds.
"Ok, bye." Walker says and he and Carlos get into the truck and drive of.
Trent then takes Monica’s bag and walks over to his Corvette, and put’s it into the trunk. Then turns to open the door for Monica.
"Thank you, nice car." Monica says while getting into the car.
"Thanks." Trent says and closes the door, and walks over to the drivers side. He gets in and starts the car, and drives off.
"So, you have your own Karate School, I used to do karate a while back." Monica says while admiring the view of Dallas.
"Really? Maybe I could give you a lesson some time."Trent says with a smile.
"I doubt that you could teach me anything new." She answers him with a smiling grin.
"Well, we’ll just see about that." Trent tells her and forces his eyes away from hers to watch the road up ahead.
They later drive up to Thunder Karate, and get out of the car and walk inside.
"Hey Trent, your class is ready and waiting for you."
Tommy says while walking closer.
"Thanks Tommy, oh, this is Monica, she’s one of our clients. She’s here to pick up a few tips."Trent says with a cocky voice.
"Yeh right. Hi, nice to meet you Tommy."
"Nice to meet yo..u..." Tommy freezes with his words once he gets a good look at Monica.
"Tommy??" Trent stairs at his brother who is frozen.
"Yeh. Um. Hi, I’m Tommy, Tommy Malloy, Trent’s brother, and, um, student." Tommy says still trying to get the words correct out.
Monica just smiles.
Trent then gives his lesson to the class. Tommy is busy helping student’s right with their moves and Monica watches Trent closely. She could see that he had the skill and the body. She had never met any man with such a small heart and such a strong body. Charming and funny, handsome and something else.
Something that made her heart beat faster, and faster. But who was she kidding, a guy like that probably had millions of girls waiting at his doorstep, none of them having a hitman trying to kill them. But something told her that maybe, just maybe, he felt the same way.
Trent’s eyes glare away from his class for a second as he watches Monica standing with Tommy talking. There really was something special about her, he just knew it. But being close to her made his heart skip a beat, and everytime she would quickly look into his eyes, and smile. Enough to make his legs go numb. Trent didn’t know what to think, or feel. He had never felt this way about anyone. Sure Carlos set him up on hundreds of blind dates, but none of them took his breath away like Monica did. But did she feel the same, he knew she had alot of things on her mind. One of those throught the fact that someone was trying to kill her. But Trent wouldn’t let anyone hurt her, never.
After the class, Trent’s dismissed everyone. He turned
back to the last place he saw Monica but found that
she was gone. He starts looking around for her who is
no where in sight. He then sees her coming out of the
bathroom dressed in a white Kei short and sleeveless
small white shirt. He couldn’t believe how perfect her
body was. Small and slim but still well built. She
walked up to him, streching her arms and stopping
infront of him. She looked up at him and smiled
"So, ready to give me my lesson??" She asks taking her long hair in a single ponytail, tying it and them crosses her arms glaring up at him.
"Yeh sure. This way." Trent says and shows her the way to the matt on the floor, they both walk over to it, streach a few muscles and then smile at each other.
"Ok, I’ll go easy on you, for now." Trent says taking his stand.
"If you say so." Monica says while standing ready.
Tommy comes closer to watch the match. ‘How come Trent always get’s the beautiful ones?’ He asked himself. But he had to admit that Trent hadn’t found the right one yet, and maybe, this women could be just the right one for Trent. Maybe all would be revealled in this one match.
Trent watches her closely, he didn’t worry to much about her making the first move. She didn’t, so he knew he to make the first move. Was he realy thinking about the match? He ignores the thought and then quickly moves forward trying to throw her a right punch. But Monica quickly block’s with her left hand and moves into him, hooks her one leg around his, knocking him of balance and throwing him to the floor. Trent is totally taken by surprise, and just lies there in shock.
"How did you do that??" Tommy asks standing next to the matt, also in shock. He had to admit that was pretty quick, even for a girl. The only other person he’s sees move that quick is either Trent or Walker.
"Oh, did Walker forget to tell you Trent?? I was one of his students." Monica says looking down at Trent.
"Figures." Tommy says smiling down at Trent. That would probably explain why she moved so quick.
Trent glances at Tommy for a second then stands up and puts his hands on his sides. She was just full of surprises. ‘A student of Walker? This aught to be good.’ Trent thought to himself.
"That was pretty good." Trent had to admit.
"Pretty good?? Alright, let’s go again." Monica says and takes her stand again.
"Ok." Trent says and also takes his stand. This time he had to watch it, she was trained by Walker. Trent was too, but who knows what to expect when you put two of Walker’s best students against each other, only time would tell.
They both stand ready and watch each other closely. Monica then quickly moves forward and gives a right high kick, Trent blocks, grabs her foot. Monica then quickly drops down on the map and swings her one leg around. Knocking Trent’s legs right from under him, he looses his balance and falls to the ground. But Trent quickly streches out his arm and lands right above Monica, who is staring right into his eyes. His whole body covering hers. They then get lost in each others eyes again.
"Now, that was a great move." Trent says with a big smile, still kneeling just above Monica.
"You too. Want to go again??"Monica says out of breath.
"You bet." Trent just stairs into her eyes, not moving.
"Your going to have to help me up then." Monica says smiling at him.
"O yes, sorry. Here." Trent quickly gets up offers his hand to her. She reaches out her hand and takes hold of his. He pulls her up to her feet and once up they stand close to each other, still lost in each others eyes. Trent’s baby blue eyes had a sense of kindness and peacefullness in them, and her dark powerfull blues puzzelled Trent. It was almost as if she was hiding a millions secrets in them, waiting to be discovered, and he hoped that it would be him discovering them. They still held each other’s hand, not wanting to let go. Tommy glared at him and then smiled.
"Maybe I should go and put away some of the equipment." Tommy says with a grin on his face. He could see the way they were looking at each other.
Trent glares at his younger brother and just smiles.
He then turns back to Monica who smiles back at him. They both then continue practising for a few more minutes. Punching, kicking and blocking, touching each other every time. After having no streangth left the two call the match a tie. Trent hands Monica a towl and the two sit down on a bench, catching their breaths. They look at each other for a second and share a smile.
"So....You trained with Walker huh?" Trent asked her wiping his face.
"Yeah. When I was younger my dad had to do alot of travelling. So he would drop he off at Walker and he would teach me. What about you? You have the same style, so he must have been your teacher too?" She said laughing, Trent smiled back at her and then glared down at the floor.
"Well, I didn’t really get along with my dad when I was younger. Got into alot of trouble, but soon after Walker was there helping me right. If he hadn’t tought me martial arts, I don’t know where I would have been today." He said remembering a hundred memories.
"Well, if you ask me. It looks like you turned out to be a really great person." She answered him, she really meant it. Trent was a really amazing person. Trent looked up at her and smiled. Was she flirting with him? Or was it just a complement? Here they were, the two barely knew anything about each other, but they where connecting like they’ve known each other for years.
